The Sony Music Center is functional enough, but lacks the flexibility of Media Player. I'm on day 3 now of this task, and my wife is seriously feeling neglected at this point, lol. Over 4 decades of music had to be re-categorized into playlists for this player. In my case, (laptop), my playlists DID NOT transfer over.

It comes with it's own "Music Center" program downloaded from the internet. (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) Now, for the bad news: Unlike my old unit, this new baby doesn't work with Windows Media Player. I prefer simplicity over "gadgetry", but i'm flexible. They essentially just gave it a bigger screen, and substituted touch screen commands in place of the buttons on the front. The "surround" and custom equalizer are still there, as is the radio. I was also happy that Sony kept most of the operational functions/options similar to my NWZ-E484. (Thanks a bunch) The sound quality is excellent, even when listening to non-HD files. That being said, being a non-techie, I was still able to figure out the functions pretty quickly, despite Sony's decision to use a "pictograph" instruction manual with no words whatsoever. The touch screen is a nice, albeit, unnecessary touch, (pardon the pun). Unlike the past Walkmans, there's less plastic, and more of a weighty high-tech quality feel. First, the good: This player is well put together. but my older Sony Walkman was out of storage space, and here we are.
